What is batik?

Batik is dyeing method where , before the

material is immersed in the dye,

The uncolored sections are covered

with wax or sometimes, with other resist

such as resin  mud or syrup .

When the fabric is dry the wax is then removed

by boiling , revealing the finished design.

The method was introduced into

 Europe From Indonesia by Dutch traders ,

and batik  remains one of the most popular

 art forms today , with unlimited scope

for innovation and creativity.
